You may think that the amount of flowers on this cake is a tad overkill, but I think it works! The bright flowers dressed up a simple honey cake and made for a festive birthday cake for a dear friend.
Doesn't it look like a summer garden?
Just collect a bunch of your favourite flowers, cut the stems down to about 1-2 cm and then arrange them on the cake. Push the flowers into the icing to make sure they don't move around.
You won't know if you're a baker or a florist!
I ordered this beautiful cake stand from the lovely lauren over at a fabulous fete. They come in all colours and sizes, but be warned, the taller ones can be a little unstable when you start cutting into the cake. Just remove the cake from the stand when serving.
